Important Notice To Attorneys

Effective Tuesday, April 8, 2008, all attorneys will be permitted to bring electronic devices into the Federal Courthouse Complex provided they have signed THIS REQUEST FORM and been issued a card by either the Bankruptcy or District Court Clerk. Electronic devices include cellular phones (with or without picture taking capabilities), personal digital assistants (PDA's), Blackberrys or similar devices, and laptops. When vouched for by an attorney, persons who frequently assist in legal matters (runners, legal assistants, consultants and experts witnesses needed for trial, e.g.) will be able to obtain an access card if necessary.

Attorneys who have previously been issued a card for use during the two month pilot period can continue to use those cards and do not need to obtain a new card.

Laptops will be permitted to be brought into the Federal Complex with or without a card. If a person doesn't have a card, they will not be permitted to bring an electronic device (other than a laptop) into the building, regardless whether it can take a photo or not.
