Proceeding Pro Se
The words “pro se” come from a Latin phrase meaning “on behalf of oneself.” If you are representing yourself in a court case without the assistance of an attorney, you are proceeding pro se. This is also sometimes referred to as self representation.
These resources are designed to assist you if you wish to file pro se in the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma. If you are representing yourself, the Judge will still expect you to state your complaints clearly, to meet all your deadlines and follow the rules. Failure to do so may result in your case being dismissed. If you choose to proceed pro se, it is very important that you familiarize yourself with all local rules, procedures, and guides.
