ANNOUNCEMENTS

Despite a federal government shutdown that began on October 1, 2025, the Judiciary remains open and will continue paid operations through Friday, October 17, 2025, by using court fee balances and other funds not dependent on a new appropriation.
Most proceedings and deadlines will occur as scheduled. For civil cases involving the United States or an agency, corporation, officer, of employee of the United States as a party, please see General Order 25-8, available here. Should the shutdown continue past October 17, 2025, the Court will continue operations under the terms of the Anti-Deficiency Act, which permits work to continue during a lapse in appropriations if such work is necessary to support the exercise of Article III judicial powers. Additional guidance will be posted at okwd.uscourts.gov as necessary.

In light of cyberattacks that have been directed at the Judiciary’s IT systems, including its CM/ECF case management system, the Western District of Oklahoma is taking steps to protect sensitive information from potential attacks. To date, we have no reason to believe that the District’s CM/ECF system has been compromised or that any incursions into our system have occurred. General Order 25-7, available at the Western District of Oklahoma’s website and via this link, sets forth the Court’s updated policy with regard to sealed filings.
